Click on the following link to read an interview with YA award-winning author Nancy Werlin. Werlin is the author of such books as The Rules of Survival and The Killer's Cousin. She recently released Impossible, which tells the story of Lucy, a seventeen-year-old who finds out that her family has been cursed by an evil Elfin Knight. She must complete three impossible tasks before the birth of her daughter in order to break the curse and save both of their lives.

By the way, if you haven't read The Rules of Survival, I highly recommend you give it a chance. And if you prefer audiobooks, the library does have it. It's one of my favorite books.

It's almost here! It's almost time for Books with Bite. There are programs in the work for Teen Read Week, one that will hopefully have a little surprise attached to it. I'm not going to tell you everything that's planned just yet . . . but keep your calendar free from October 12 - 18. You never know what fun activity might just pop up.

Breaking Dawn Party - review
Well, I hope that everyone who came to the Breaking Dawn party on Saturday had a good time. I know I did! And if you were unable to make it, you missed a great day filled with trivia, crafty projects, and good discussion.

Finally, it was time for Pin-the-Tail on the Werewolf, which I unfortunately don't have any pictures of, which is sad because it was a rocking good time.
All in all, it was a great day filled with lots of good food, good discussion and creative minds.
And...just as an FYI...
On Wednesday, August 27th at 6:30 pm, the Gettysburg Library will be hosting a Breaking Dawn discussion. If you've bought your own copy of the book or are lucky enough to have one of the library's copies, feel free to come and talk with other fans about the series in general and Breaking Dawn in particular. I know there's a lot that struck me as I read it.
The doors opened at 11:00 am on Saturday, and everyone was greeted to a room that was carefully decorated in the color scheme of red and black with posters of all four of Meyer's book covers hanging prominently on the wall. Also, those that came to the party noticed the prize table where a copy of Breaking Dawn was hanging out along with the Twilight movie calendars, some articles on Meyer, and lists of some good titles to read after you finished with Breaking Dawn.

The party started off with the trivia. Over 100 questions were asked, and the teen who answered the most, won the copy of Breaking Dawn.
After the trivia, most of the time was spent creating and perfecting fan t-shirts...

Breaking Dawn
It's almost Saturday, the day that most, if not all, of our questions with the Twilight Saga will be answered.
Will Bella and Edward marry?
Will Bella become a vampire?
Where has Jacob been?
What will happen???
To work our way to Saturday, see what Alice Cullen might say about your fate.
Simply type your question in the box below, and be amazed by her answers....
And don't forget about the Breaking Dawn party. Saturday from 11:00 - 3:00 at the Gettysburg Library. There will be food, games, and fun. See you there!

InuYasha Day and Breaking Dawn
InuYasha and Breaking Dawn . . . they seem like two completely different epic stories, but there are more similarities between the two than you would think.
First, let's look at InuYasha. This what Viz (the publishers of InuYasha) say about the story on the official InuYasha website:
Now to Breaking Dawn and the Twilight Saga...
It's again, the classic boy-meets-girl story, but yes, there are twists and turns. Bella moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father. At school she meets and instantly falls for a mysterious guy named Edward Cullen. He is a little standoffish at the beginning of their relationship, because, well, he wants to kill her. It seems that Edward is a vampire. That doesn't stop Bella from falling for him, however. Now Bella and Edward are beginning their tentative relationship and Bella meets another local teen - Jacob Black. After that, all bets are off. Bella is torn between these two totally different guys who both love her, in different ways.
I know, there's so much more I could write about the Twilight Saga, but there's not enough room here for me to get into every little detail of the story. So why do I think there are similarities between the two? Well, here's my list...
And to end this, keep in mind that on Saturday, July 12th, the Gettysburg Library is going to be hosting InuYasha Day! Come and spend the day with us as we watch all four InuYasha movies! Snacks will be provided - including ramen.
And for your Twilight Saga fans, on Saturday, August 2nd the Gettysburg Library is going to be hosting the Breaking Dawn Release Party! Any area teen that enjoys the Twilight Saga is welcome to come and join in the fun. There will be trivia, discussions about the books and movie, contests, giveaways, and just general Twilight-induced fun. Registration is required for this event.
First, let's look at InuYasha. This what Viz (the publishers of InuYasha) say about the story on the official InuYasha website:
Inuyasha is a hit television and movie series that follows the adventures of Kagome, a typical high-school girl who is sent back in time to Japan's feudal era. There she meets the half-human, half-dog-demon Inuyasha, who has been imprisoned for attempting to steal the mystical Jewel of the Four Souls. When the jewel is shattered and its shards are scattered across the land, Kagome and Inuyasha must reluctantly teacm up to recover them before they fall into the wrong hands. It's a classic boy-meets-girl story --spiced up with ancient Japanese folklore and action! My take on InuYasha is this...yes, it's the classic boy-meets-girl story. Both InuYasha and Kagome dislike each other quite a bit when they first meet and team up to find all of the shards of the Shikon Jewel. However as the story progresses, they become friends and quite possibly fall in love. There's just one catch. Kagome is the reincarnated body of Kikyo, a priestess who died thinking that InuYasha betrayed her. Kikyo was raised from the dead and has been causing problems with Kagome and InuYasha. This leaves InuYasha feeling torn. He loves Kikyo, but he also has feelings for Kagome. Who will he end up with once all of the shards have been recovered? Or, will he use the jewel to become a full demon, leaving both Kikyo and Kagome behind?

- Love Triangles. Kagome-InuYasha-Kikyo and Edward-Bella-Jacob. Sure, the roles are reversed in the two stories, but its still a difficult place for both InuYasha and Bella to be.
- Dangerous Quests. Kagome and InuYasha are trying to recover all of the jewel shards. This means they have to keep fighting other demons who want the jewel for other reasons. Bella seems to always get into some sort of trouble where either Edward's family, Jacob's family, or both families need to work together in order to save her.
- The Supernatural. Hello! InuYasha is a half-demon. Kikyo is dead. Edward is a vampire. Jacob is a werewolf. Need I say more?
