My Can't Wait for Books!

I read a lot of the teen books that come through the library. In fact, some of my favorite authors are listed as being YA authors. This year is no different from any other year for publishing YA books – there are some pretty amazing authors releasing new books in the upcoming months. The following are just a few that I’m waiting for with great anticipation…

  1. Lock & Key by Sarah Dessen

Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite authors. From the moment I picked up the first book I ever read by her, This Lullaby, I was hooked. Lock & Key looks to be another Dessen classic with a story about a girl who is trying to learn how to trust again. It’s due out in April.

  1. Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr

Also due out in April, Ink Exchange is the second book by Melissa Marr after Wicked Lovely. Once again, we return to the world where Faeries are real. This timethe story is about Irial, the ruler of the Dark Court, and Leslie, the unsuspecting 17-year-old who knows nothing of the rules of the Faerie.

  1. Airhead by Meg Cabot

Who doesn’t love Meg Cabot? In June, we will meet Em Watts and learn of the disaster that changes her life forever. It’s sure to be a fun ride with Meg Cabot at the helm.

  1. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

Were you wondering when I would get to this book? How can this book not be on anyone’s list of upcoming books that you have to read? The final book in Meyer’s series, we will finally get our questions answered…hopefully. Does Bella change into a vampire? Will she marry Edward? Where is Jacob? Will he crash the wedding? How can their story possibly end? It’s not due out until August, so hopefully we’ll all be able to wait that long…

  1. Paper Towns by John Green

I don’t know anything about the plot, but having read Green’s first two novels, Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines I have to say that I am very much looking forward to this book. Green is a smart and snappy writer with a few quirks that just makes him all the more interesting. Here, you can hear him read a little from Paper Towns (from Brotherhood 2.0, a year-long project he held with his brother Hank). It’s due out in October.

Once again, this is just a list of the few books that I'm waiting for, rather impatiently. There certainly are more that I will be reading...
